INSF and CAS announced the 9th Joint Silk Road Science Fund focused on advanced materials and bio-engineering.

Call Description

The Joint Silk Road Science Fund (SRSF) is a funding framework provided jointly by the Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) since 2016. In its 9^th round, SRSF funds 6 research projects and 3 workshops.
Each research project must have a primary investigator (PI) in Iran and a PI in China. A project can last from 1-3 years.
Each workshop must have a primary investigator (PI) in Iran and a PI in China. A workshop can last up to 4 days and can be held in Iran or China.

Priority Areas

Applicant Eligibility

An Iranian Applicant must be a full-time faculty member at an Iranian university or research institute.
An Iranian Applicant must be a full-time faculty member at a university or research institute affiliated with CAS. The list of universities and research institutes affiliated with CAS may be found in this link: https://english.cas.cn/institutes/
Iranian Applicants must submit their proposals, jointly prepared with their Chinese counterparts, at the INSF Research Management System. Submitting proposals is only possible through the aforementioned system.
In addition to the online application form in the INSF Research Management System, a proposal form in English signed by the Chinese PI and sealed by the Chinese PI’s place of work must be submitted by the Iranian applicant.

Timeline

Funding Amount

For research projects, Iranian researchers will receive a Maximum of 30.000.000.000 IRR for the duration of 3 years.
For research workshops, Iranian researchers will receive a Maximum of 5.000.000.000 IRR.
