Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan

Two Organizations are in charge of the collaboration of The Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan. 

The Agency of Innovative Development under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation in Uzbekistan, established by Presidential Decree PD-265 on December 21, 2022, plays a pivotal role in driving Uzbekistan’s social and economic progress. With a focus on leveraging advanced foreign experience, scientific achievements, and innovative technologies, the agency executes practical measures to comprehensively develop public and state life, enhance the country's intellectual and technological potential, and evaluate the effectiveness of innovation activities. The agency also emphasizes training, youth involvement in innovation, investment attraction, venture financing, and international collaboration, demonstrating a commitment to advancing Uzbekistan's position in science, technology, and innovation on the global stage.

The Fund for Financing Science and Innovation Support, operating under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, serves as a key financial mechanism to advance scientific and innovative endeavors within the country. Its primary functions encompass the competitive financing of innovation initiatives, research, development, and startup projects. The agency plays a pivotal role in supporting the commercialization of scientific results, ensuring the modernization of scientific laboratories with cutting-edge equipment, and facilitating the registration and maintenance of intellectual property rights. The fund also allocates resources for scientific training, material and technical support of information centers, and incentives for ministry employees, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to fostering innovation, research, and development in Uzbekistan.

INSF and Uzbekistan Collaboration

INSF, the Agency for Innovative Development, and the Fund for Financing Science and Innovation Support signed an MoU in 2023 to facilitate scientific collaboration between scientists of Iran and Uzbekistan through joint research projects. The first call for proposals within the scope of this MoU was announced in 2023.
