Iran - China to further their Scientific Collaboration
Iranian Vice-president for science and technology, Dr. Sourena Sattarti, signed a memorandum of understanding with Prof. Bai Chunli, the president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) to form a joint scientific fund. The fund which is called “Silk Road Science Fund” aims at supporting joint research projects, holding join workshops and exchanging researchers and university professors. The scientific fields of collaboration in this fund include nanotechnology, cognitive science and technology, and medical technologies.
Another memorandum of understanding was signed between the Iranian Vice-president for science and technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Peoples Republic of China. Developing a science and technology park in Iran, a joint investment center in Suzhou Nanopolis, and establishing an export center for Iranian herbs in Shenzhen are among the aims of this memorandum.
