Fifth INSF- NSFC Joint Call Announced
The Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) are pleased to announce their fifth joint call for proposals. This call aims to support up to 10 joint research projects in selected priority areas.
Priority Research Areas
1. Traditional Medicine and Medicinal Plants:
- Evidence-based integration and standardization of traditional Chinese and Persian medicine for major diseases
- Sustainable medicinal plants: eco-cultivation, biodiversity, and resilience
- Application of digital and AI tools in classification, analysis, and clinical research of traditional medicine and medicinal plants
2. Energy:
- Renewable energy
- High-efficiency utilization of conventional energy
- Energy-related materials
- Energy storage technologies
- Application of artificial intelligence in the energy field
Eligibility Criteria
- The Iranian Principal Investigator (PI) must be a full-time faculty member at an Iranian university or research institute.
- Proposals must be jointly developed by Iranian and Chinese researchers.
- Iranian applicants are required to submit proposals through the INSF Research Management System. Submission is only possible via this system.
- In addition to the Persian online form, applicants must upload a joint English proposal form (in Word format), as well as other required documents, including an updated CV and valid faculty member order.
Timeline
- Call Announcement: July 19, 2025
- Proposal Submission Deadline: August 23, 2025
- Result Announcement: November 16, 2025
- Project Start Date: January 2026
Funding
Each selected joint research project will receive up to 40 billion IRR from INSF, for a maximum duration of three years.
